Not too long ago, the only Wild Turkey in New England was in a bottle.
A relative of mine, Mrs. Florence Snow of Bridgewater, won 6 awards at the 1938 Northeastern Poultry Producers Council Exposition in New York City. Both for dressed and Live turkeys. This was after losing 250 turkeys in the 1938 hurricane.
Well they certainly made a comeback! I'm having to dodge them in the car once or twice a week. Now we need to bring the chestnut back.
